5 Ways to Boost Your Confidence
Most of us have experienced low confidence at one point in our lives, whether it's situational as we try something new or more a general low that is spilling over into multiple areas of our lives. Maybe you don’t like how you look, don’t feel that you're worthy of love or money, feel like an imposter in your career or feel like you're failing in your relationships.
Here are 5 ways to boost your confidence:
If there is a protruding negative thought that is standing out to you and that voice in your head is telling you something not nice and doesn’t serve you, think of something else you can tell yourself instead. For instance, “I’m not worthy of love” can be replaced with, “I love myself fully, and attract love into my life.” You can come up with a couple affirmations that are unique to you and say them to yourself as you stand in front of the mirror and look deep into your own eyes.
As we gain experience and see positive results, our confidence grows. Keep going, learn from your mistakes, pivot if you need to and keep taking on opportunities that give you the experience you want. Remember to take stock of your accomplishments and how far you've come, and continue to take strides forward to cultivate your craft.
Keep a gratitude journal each day. In the evening, write out three or more things you are grateful for that day. As you realize how much you have to be grateful for and your heart grows in gratitude, you will attract more things into your life to be grateful for. Being in a place of gratitude helps us to feel more confident as we see more of the things we want in our lives, and that makes us happy.
Exercise 3-5 times a week whether it's going to the gym, taking a class, or going out for a walk or run. It feels good to move our bodies. When we are active, we tend to feel more connected to our bodies and like how we look more.
If you have had a recent mishap that's bringing down your confidence in one or more areas, think back to a time in the past when you had a challenge and overcame it. Take note of all the positive characteristics you showed in that past situation and bring those traits to your current situation to move forward with grace.
Growing confidence in one area or all areas of our lives takes time and patience. If you need help breaking through your thought patterns, quieting your inner critic, and overcoming limiting beliefs, work with a Life Coach or Business Coach.
